English food was surprisingly French. True! There were lots of places selling French pastry and French bagette sandwiches in London. Of course Pub food was as I expected. Good and hearty and did I say good?

I&#039;ve discovered, since moving from the UK to Canada, that most Canadian English and French stereotypes are based on the 1940s and 1950s post-war cultures! It&#039;s amazing how long it has persited. I was even asked by one gentleman if we (the UK) had &#039;modern computers&#039;!!
